Skiing
The Espace Killy spans from Tignes (2100m) up to the Grande Motte glacier (3456m) and across to Val d'Isère's Solaise and Bellevarde sectors. The Grande Motte funicular whisks skiers up to glacier skiing year-round, conditions allowing, feeding pistes like the Genepy black run. Val d'Isère's La Face, home to World Cup downhill racing, drops off the Bellevarde massif, while the Vallée de l'Iseran offers long, high cruisers. Tignes' Toviere sector links the two resorts via cable car, with pistes such as Sache and Silver dropping through varied terrain. The Col de Fresse and Pissaillas glacier extend skiing further, particularly useful early and late season. Lifts including the Funival, Cugnai chairlift, and Palet gondola provide efficient access to the upper mountain. Beginner areas are found at Le Lavachet in Tignes and around La Daille and Val's nursery slopes. Off-piste terrain is extensive, with couloirs and itineraries off the Bellevarde and Grande Motte drawing experienced skiers, often accessed with a guide given the scale of the terrain. Overall the combined domain covers around 300km of marked pistes across both resorts, with a high proportion above 2000m ensuring reliable coverage through the season.
There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.
