Despite its village feel, Les Brévières is well connected to the extensive Espace Killy slopes via lift and piste links, giving skiers access to over 300km of runs shared with Val d'Isère. It's a good choice for families and those who prefer a calmer, more rustic setting.

Tignes Les Brévières is part of the Tignes ski area with access to 93 miles of downhill skiing, with 154 marked pistes, served by a total of 87 ski lifts. From Tignes Les Brévières you can ski to the other villages of Tignes Le Lac, Tignes Les Boisses and Tignes Val Claret.

The ski resort itself is at 5,085ft, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 11,319ft, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

Skiing

Les Brévières sits at the lower end of the Tignes ski domain, linked into the vast Espace Killy area shared with Val d'Isère, which totals around 300km of pistes across a wide range of altitudes. From the village, the Brévières gondola rises up towards the Toviere sector, connecting into the main Tignes network which spans from around 1550m up to the Grande Motte glacier at over 3450m. Skiers can descend all the way back down to Les Brévières via a long, often quiet red run through the trees, a rewarding end to a day exploring the higher slopes. Above the village, the terrain opens onto the wider Tignes network, including the Aiguille Percée area, Col du Palet, and the glacier runs served by the Grande Motte funicular. Blue and red cruising runs dominate around Val Claret and Tignes le Lac, while more challenging reds and blacks can be found around Col de Fresse and Toviere. The long run down to Les Brévières is a highlight for intermediates seeking varied terrain away from the busier upper slopes, especially valuable on powder days when the trees offer shelter and definition in flat light.

Snowboarding

While Les Brévières itself is a quiet village base rather than a park hub, boarders staying here have quick access up into the main Tignes terrain, including the Snowpark Tignes near Val Claret, one of the more established parks in the Alps with jumps, rails, and a boardercross. The wider Espace Killy also offers plenty of natural terrain, gullies, and off-piste for freeriders willing to explore beyond the pistes.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Tignes Les Brévières is Chambery, 106 minutes drive away.

Annecy, Grenoble, Lyon St-Exupéry, Lyon Bron and Geneva airports are all within three hours drive.

The nearest major airport is Chambéry, followed by Geneva and Lyon, both well served by J2Ski-listed transfer options. From Chambéry, the drive takes around 1.5 to 2 hours via the A430 and up through Bourg-Saint-Maurice. From Geneva, allow around 3 hours, following the motorway south through Albertville and Bourg-Saint-Maurice before the final climb into the Tignes valley. Regular bus transfers and train links to Bourg-Saint-Maurice, followed by a connecting bus, are also options for those travelling without a car.
