Tignes Les Boisses is part of the Tignes ski area with access to 93 miles of downhill skiing, with 154 marked pistes, served by a total of 87 ski lifts. From Tignes Les Boisses you can ski to the other villages of Tignes Le Lac, Tignes Les Brévières and Tignes Val Claret.

The ski resort itself is at 6,070ft, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 11,319ft, skiing and snowboarding is assured throughout the season.

Skiing

Les Boisses connects into the broader Tignes ski area, part of the Espace Killy domain shared with Val d'Isère, which totals over 300km of pisted runs across a huge elevation range from around 1550m up to the Grande Motte glacier at 3456m. From Les Boisses, lifts link up towards Val Claret and Tignes Le Lac, giving access to pistes such as the long red and blue runs down through the Le Lavachet sector, as well as the wider network of blues and reds serving intermediate skiers throughout the domain. Further up, more advanced skiers can reach the steeper terrain around the Grande Motte and Tovière sectors, along with the glacier skiing higher up. The lift system throughout Espace Killy includes a mix of gondolas, chairlifts and the Grande Motte funicular, allowing efficient movement between the different villages and sectors that make up Tignes and Val d'Isère.

Snowboarding

Snowboarders based at Les Boisses have easy access into the rest of the Tignes and Val d'Isère terrain, including the terrain parks at Val Claret. The Tignes Freestyle area near Val Claret offers kickers, rails and boxes for varying ability levels, while the wide, open pistes throughout the domain and the glacier area suit freeriders looking for off-piste lines when conditions allow.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Tignes Les Boisses is Chambery, 108 minutes drive away.

Annecy, Grenoble, Lyon St-Exupéry, Lyon Bron and Geneva airports are all within three hours drive.

The nearest major airport is Chambéry, with Geneva and Lyon also commonly used by visitors travelling to Tignes. From these airports, the resort is reached by road, with transfer times varying depending on the airport chosen. Driving via Albertville and Bourg-Saint-Maurice is the typical route up into the Tignes valley, with Les Boisses being one of the first villages reached along the way.

Aprés Ski

Les Boisses itself is quiet in the evenings, with a more traditional atmosphere than the livelier bars found up at Tignes Le Lac or Val Claret, such as Le Melting Pofte or the Loop Bar. Those staying in Les Boisses looking for nightlife typically head up into the main Tignes villages, where a wider range of bars and restaurants can be found.
