Pyrenees Ski Season Starting Early, Tomorrow

The ski season in the Pyrenees is expected to get started a week earlier than expected, with Spain's largest ski area Baqueira Beret announcing that they're opening some runs from Saturday 25th November, following snowfall this week. It's not yet clear if any other centres in the region will join Baqueira.
"Significant snowfall of up to 35 cm will allow the season to open in Baqueira Beret next Saturday, November 25," a resort spokesperson said, adding, "Our Val d'Aran and Valls d'Àneu station will inaugurate the season by partially opening the central area of Baqueira. Thanks to the snowfall in recent days and low temperatures that have allowed snow production, part of the Baqueira area will be launched with a total of 25 km of open slopes and 8 lifts in operation."
Most ski centres in the region plan to open for the first weekend of December, with the first full week of December a key one in the region with multiple public holidays in Andorra and Spain that week making it a good one for early-season bookings.
Until the snowfall earlier this week it had been generally rather warm and dry for much of November in the region after some promising early snowfalls in late October and early this month.
