Nestled in the Maurienne Valley, St Jean d'Arves boasts access to over 150 kilometers of ski runs across the Les Sybelles ski area. The resort features a beautiful alpine setting, ideal for both relaxation and adventure.

The ski area of St Jean d'Arves is in the French Alps at an altitude of 5,249ft, with 12 miles of marked runs.

St Jean d'Arves is part of the Les Sybelles ski area with access to 149 miles of downhill skiing, with 136 marked pistes, served by a total of 67 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in St Jean d'Arves itself (12 miles of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Les Sybelles ski resorts of Albiez Montrond, La Toussuire, Le Corbier, Les Bottières, St Colomban des Villards and St Sorlin d'Arves.

The ski resort itself is at 5,249ft, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 7,415ft, snow cover is generally reliable.

Skiing

The resort is part of the larger Les Sybelles ski area, which includes five interconnected resorts. With an elevation of up to 2,620 meters, it offers notable pistes like the 7 km long Les Chalets run and efficient lifts, including the Les Balmes and Le Folyères lifts.

There are a variety of pistes to suit all levels of skier ability, from Beginner to Expert.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to St Jean d'Arves is Chambery, 60 minutes drive away.

Annecy, Geneva, Grenoble, Lyon St-Exupéry, Lyon Bron, Turin Caselle, Turin Cuneo and Saint-Étienne airports are all within three hours drive.

Chambery is just one hours drive away, in good driving conditions, so you can be on the piste quickly.

Accessing St Jean d'Arves is straightforward, with the nearest major airports in Chambéry and Grenoble. From there, visitors can take a scenic drive or shuttle service to reach the resort.

Snow-making is available, on 15 miles of ski runs, with 233 snow cannons.

Season Dates

When is St Jean d'Arves open?

We don't currently have confirmed season dates, but hope to soon.

Usual opening is mid December, and usual closing is Mid April.

NOTE:- Ski area, lift and piste opening is subject to Current Snow Conditions.
