The Italian ski resort of Clavière is in the Italian Alps at an altitude of 5,741ft, with 21 miles of marked runs.

Summary

Clavière is part of the Milky Way ski area with access to 580 miles of downhill skiing, with 598 marked pistes, served by a total of 175 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Clavière itself (21 miles of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Milky Way ski resorts of Sansicario, Sauze d'Oulx, Sestrière and Montgenèvre.

The ski resort itself is at 5,741ft, so skiing or boarding back to the resort is usually possible. With ski lifts as high as 7,546ft, snow cover is generally reliable.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Clavière is Turin Caselle, 86 minutes drive away.

Chambery, Grenoble, Turin Cuneo, Annecy, Milan Malpensa, Genoa, Milan Linate, Geneva and Bergamo airports are all within three hours drive.

Infrastructure

The 12 ski lifts are able to uplift 90,000 skiers and snowboarders every hour.

Snow-making is available, on 25 miles of ski runs, with 250 snow cannons.

Usual opening is early December, and usual closing is Mid April.
