Nestled between the Schmittenhöhe mountain and the shores of Lake Zell, this resort boasts excellent skiing conditions. With over 138 km of pistes, it caters to both beginners and experienced skiers alike.

The ski area of Zell am See is in the Austrian Alps at an altitude of 2,493ft, with 50 miles of marked runs.

Zell am See is part of the Europa Sport Region ski area with access to 81 miles of downhill skiing, with 81 marked pistes, served by a total of 53 ski lifts. In addition to the skiing in Zell am See itself (50 miles of pisted ski runs), the appropriate ski Lift Pass will allow you to ski or snowboard in the other Europa Sport Region ski resorts of Kaprun and Kitzsteinhorn.

The Schmittenhöhe mountain rises to 2,000 meters and features numerous ski areas including the Maiskogel. Notable pistes include the Trass Abfahrt and the Schmittental, while the modern lifts like the Areitbahn and Schmittenhöhebahn ensure quick access to the slopes.

How to get there

 By Air

The nearest airport to Zell am See is Salzburg, 90 minutes drive away.

Innsbruck Airport, Munich, Klagenfurt, Linz and Ljubljana airports are all within three hours drive.

The resort is easily accessible via Salzburg Airport, located about 80 km away. Regular train services also connect Zell am See to major cities in Austria, making travel convenient.
