First Skiers of 26-27 In US Before Resorts Open

The first skiers have taken to fresh fallen snow in the US rookies, before any of the country's ski areas have opened for the 26-27 ski season.
Ski areas in the Rockies reported up to 14" (35cm) of snowfall in the past few days on high terrain leading some staff members to don their skis and boards and make a few turns. The skier above was pictured at Brian Head resort in Utah, set to start its 26-27 season the three weeks on November 6th. Skiers at Colorado's Silverton also posted video of themselves skiing and riding the fresh powder there.
A snowboarder is also reported to have hiked up and taken a run at Alta in Utah, one of three US resorts to still ban boarding, before the centre opens.
Brian Head is one of several areas including Breckenridge and Copper in Colorado and Sunsin near Banff in Alberta, Canada, that have targeted the first weekend of November as their season opening date.
Other though, whilst not yet naming the date, hope to open sooner. Arapahoe Basin and Keystone are both now full-on snowmaking and say they'll open as soon as they can.
"The guns are firing, the snow is flying, and we're getting pumped for winter. All this hard work from our snowmakers and mountain ops is getting us one step closer to opening day ASAP,!" an Arapahoe Basin spokesperson commented late Thursday.
