Still More New Runs At Deer Valley

Still More New Runs At Deer Valley

Published : 25-Aug-2026 13:33

Utah's Deer Valley has announced a third successive winter of ski area expansion is coming this winter.

The resort's ski area has more than doubled in size after it took over the failed Mayflower Mountain resort that was planned to open next to it, putting it now in America's 10 largest.

Since December 2024, Deer Valley skiing has more than doubled in size, marking the largest resort expansion in ski industry history. The resort has added 11 new chairlifts since December of 2024 and will have 4,500 skiable acres for the 26/27 winter season.
Unfortunately, last season's historic expansion, which saw the bulk of new terrain opening, was marred by a very poor snowfall winter in the western US, meaning some of the terrain was only briefly skiable towards the end of the season.

For the upcoming 26/27 winter season, it will all be ready to ski again and Deer Valley will also add yet another lift, the new Hail Peak Express lift, which will open access to 200 new skiable acres and 7 new runs, while additional enhancements across the resort include a new family-friendly snow feature zone off Pioche Express and a 10-million-gallon reservoir adjacent to Park Peak for enhanced snowmaking efforts.
"Last winter transformed Deer Valley," said Deer Valley Resort President & Chief Operating Officer Todd Bennett. "This winter builds on that momentum by opening Hail Peak, expanding Deer Valley to 4,500 skiable acres, and continuing our investment in the lifts, snowmaking, and guest experience that define Deer Valley."
