Chemmy Alcott suffers collapsed lung after Lake Annecy dive

Former British ski racer and Ski Sunday presenter Chemmy Alcott has suffered a collapsed lung after misjudging a dive into Lake Annecy in France.
The 44-year-old was on holiday in the Alps with her family. After some time in Morzine, she moved on to Annecy, where she attempted a front flip from a five-metre diving platform into the lake.
Unfortunately, she misjudged the rotation and landed heavily in the water. At first, she thought she was just winded, but after continuing to experience breathing difficulties, Alcott was taken to hospital where doctors diagnosed a collapsed lung.
She has subsequently had a chest drain and spent several nights in hospital.
Alcott shared footage of the incident on Instagram, describing it as "a very expensive lesson in rotation".
The four-time Olympian has a long history of overcoming serious injuries during her skiing career, including a major leg fracture sustained in a crash at Lake Louise in 2010. She discussed her many injuries when interviewed on The Ski Podcast.
