Val Thorens To Create ‘Escape Room’ in Cable Car

Val Thorens have announced that they'll be running a so-called 'escape room' in one of their cable cars from the Easter holidays inwards, the highest in Europe.
The escape room concept has swept the world in recent years, with players 'locked' in a room and required to solves a series of clues in order to be able to open the door and escape. Participants efforts are usually observed and assisted if required by an operator outside the room via an intercom or computer screen.
Val Thorens "Escape Game Caron" has been developed by the Val Thorens Tourist Office and the resort's ski lift company SETAM and involves solving a mystery as part of an immersive adventure story.
A team of five players (from 15 years old) heads into the escape room – a cabin of the Caron cable car suspended hundreds of metres in the air - and has an hour to try to work their way out (presumably after the cable car has returned to its station) . After the game is over the players ride back to the resort from the lift in a snow cat.
The first game is scheduled for March 27, with several evening sessions per week running until the resort closes for the season on May 8th. It is free to take part but potential players should register in advance to do so with the tourist office.
